 John Chamberlain    American (1927–2011)

 

John Chamberlain is known for his highly colorful, twisted sculptures composed of crushed metals, crushed car parts and a variety of industrial materials like Mylar and Plexiglas. His pieces, were frequently built at monumental scale, evoking Pop art and the dynamic gestures of Abstract Expressionism. His works are included in exhibitions in Paris, New York, London, Berlin, Los Angeles and more.

 

His dynamic works are found in collections major museums including: Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum, The Tate,Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Hirshhorn Museum, the the Stedelijk Museum,the Whitney Museum of American Art. Chamberlain also produced photography and films in addition to his highly sought after sculptures.
